PHOENIX – Apple dropped some new tech at their annual event so here’s what’s coming to an Apple store near you:
Apple Watch updates
All of the watch’s features are getting updated with the Series 4. The Apple Watch is getting a bigger screen. The display screen will be 30 percent larger to be exact. The larger display lets users see more images. The watch now comes with eight new faces that show your closest contacts and most-used fitness apps. You can also expect new sizes.
iPhone updates
Apple has new phones coming out: the iPhone XS (pronounced “Ten S”), the iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR. The new iPhones comes in gold, silver and space gray, and they comes in two sizes. They’re supposed to have the most durable glass ever on a smartphone and the highest quality display on an iOS device. Just like the iPhone X, the XS and XS Max have no home button. You’ll unlock the phone using facial recognition. As for the camera, the new iPhone comes with an improved Portrait mode that can distinguish between hair and background better than ever. How’s the battery life looking? The iPhone XS will give you 30 minutes more battery life than the iPhone X, and the XS Max has 1.5 hours. The third phone, the iPhone XR, will be available in white, black, blue, coral and red. The XR has similar features to the other two.
Cost:
How much am I going to pay to take selfies that I’ll never post, and text people that leave me on read? Good question. The iPhone XS starts at $999, the XS Max at $1,099 and the XR at $749. The XS and XS Max will be available to preorder on Friday, Sept. 14, and will ship Sept. 21. You can preorder the XR Oct. 19 and get it on Oct. 26.
