Phoenix Comicon may be behind us, but one of the Valley’s signature sci-fi conventions is on the horizon.

LepreCon, June 25-28 at the Embassy Suites Phoenix North, has booked some amazing talent this year for its 41st incarnation. Just announced and headlining the convention as guest of honor is David Gerrold, who wrote the original Star Trek’s iconic comedy adventure “The Trouble With Tribbles” while still in college.

Gerrold appears courtesy of a co-sponsorship with the United Federation of Phoenix, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary of organized fandom at LepreCon this year.

Another Star Trek personality appearing is New York Times best-selling author Dayton Ward.

Other guests of honor include G.I. Joe comics scribe Larry Hama; award-winning game designer, author and editor Jennifer Brozek; fantasy artist Ken Kelley; the Harp Twins; and East Valley graphic designer and web developer Victor Moreno.

Of course, there will be many exhibitors in the dealers room, an art show and many organizations represented. See LepreCon.org for more information, including membership details and hotel info. And don’t forget to check our Nerdvana Convention Calendar for more upcoming events (and let us know what we’ve missed).
