Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker tickets go on sale, as intense final trailer premieres

Stay on target! Theater chains like Cinemark announced Saturday that Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker tickets will go on sale Monday, Oct. 21.

There was also “final” trailer during halftime on the NFL’s Monday Night Football on ESPN. A brief teaser showed Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) at the helm of the Millennium Falcon as Poe (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega) and C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) join them for adventure:

Ticket sales (and probably more than a few server crashes) began soon before the trailer aired.

As in the past, early bird viewers can get theater exclusives such as IMAX’s distinctive giveaway poster prints from artist Dan Mumford:

And, of course, a new theatrical poster was released:

The movie, described as the end of a nine-film arc of trilogies, opens Dec. 20.
