Gary Gygax RPG books returning to print with Troll Lord Games

Troll Lord Games is now reprinting and selling several tabletop roleplaying game titles by the late Gary Gygax in an agreement to raise money to pay debts on behalf of the late Dungeons & Dragons co-creator’s estate.

Gygax, before his death, was working with Troll Lord on products such as Castle Zagyg and the Yggsburgh Campaign Setting. After he died in 2008, Gygax Games, founded by his widow Gail, withdrew the license that allowed them to publish his work. There followed an epic struggle within the family and estate.

Troll Lord said in a statement: “After years of turmoil, the Estate of Gary Gygax was taken over by a court assigned estate manager. As part of the agreement to raise money to secure the debts of the estate, Troll Lord Games was granted the right and privilege to reprint several of Gary Gygax’s works. To wit, The Gygaxian Fantasy World Series, Castle Zagyg: Yggsburgh, and The Hermit are each coming back into print.”
