The Third Doctor Adventures return with a six-part tale, Revolution in Space, as Tim Treloar once again fills the frilly shirt and cloak of the Doctor (as originally portrayed on television by Jon Pertwee).

Sadie Miller rejoins him as Sarah Jane Smith, the role her beloved mum Elisabeth Sladen first portrayed on television in 1974, to recreate a classic TARDIS team on audio encountering new dangers in the far future.

The Doctor and Sarah find themselves in an asteroid, on the outer reaches of Earth’s solar system. It’s the future, and humans have colonized this inhospitable place, to mine vital minerals to supply their home planet. However, links with Earth are becoming ever more strained, and forces within the colony are seeking independence. Revolution is in the air.

Meanwhile, in the deepest chambers of the asteroid, a powerful force is emerging. Its influence is growing rapidly. But how will it affect Sarah Jane Smith and her place in future history?

Actor Tim Treloar said: “Most of the Third Doctor’s adventures are set on Earth, and Revolution in Space is set on Earth in a way, in that it’s the descendants of Earth people who went to the asteroid first and have now become natives.

This script written by Jonny Morris is wonderful, the dialogue’s fantastic.”Sadie Miller added: “Doing a six-part story feels cinematic. You really get to go on a much deeper journey with all the characters and there’s so much more room to feel all those emotional corners, which is exciting. I love that we had a much bigger cast than usual. There’s a lot of action sequences, and you don’t quite know where it’s going to end up!”

Story and cast details are today revealed for the forthcoming fourth box set of full-cast audio drama starring Missy, the Master’s mischievous female incarnation.

She’s mad, she’s bad and she’s very dangerous to know! Michelle Gomez (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Flight Attendant) is back as Missy in three new adventures.

Due for release in May 2024, slightly later than originally advertised, Missy: Bad Influence will show just how coming into contact with the Time Lord brings out the worst in humanity.

The Metamorphosis box set takes the Doctor (Tom Baker) and his companions, Surgeon Lieutenant Harry Sullivan (Christopher Naylor) and UNIT secretary Naomi Cross (Eleanor Crooks), to the recent past and the far future, where they are caught in a deadly game.

Recently defeated on screen by the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors in Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary specials, the Toymaker is resurrected on audio, this time played by Annette Badland (Doctor Who: Aliens of London, Ted Lasso). And Geoffrey Beevers returns to the role of the Master, to face the Fourth Doctor for the first time since 2015’s Death Match.

The people of the planet Jaxus are vanishing. When the Doctor and his friends land, Naomi is snatched away by a mysterious fog and taken to a prison run by a very old foe of the Doctor’s. The Master is here and he has, as ever, a sinister scheme underway… but neither Naomi nor Harry know who he is… Can the Doctor stop his plans and rescue the prisoners? Or will his companions inadvertently aid his enemy’s plans?

Director Jamie Anderson said: “Some of the Doctor’s enemies have an ‘I’m smarter than you‘ vibe about them and it’s always nice to beat villains who really think a lot of themselves. I’m very glad that the Doctor has got another chance to come up against the naughty Toymaker.”

The Brigadier is used to the Doctor acting strangely, but this time there’s something decidedly different about the whole affair. As he looks into the Time Lord’s odd activities outside of UNIT, there’s a mystery that’ll take Lethbridge-Stewart to a site very familiar to Sarah Jane Smith.

Can the Brigadier trust his old friend? Who are his new mysterious allies? And is the future of humanity really at stake? A Sontaran threat could spell the end of their long-standing friendship… and the entire planet!

It’s so wonderful and very
moving to hear her playing as her dear, wonderful mum.”
