Night Trooper Captain Enoch and Grand Admiral Thrawn
Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen, who voiced the character in animation in Star Wars: Rebels), flanked by Chimaera Stormtrooper Captain Enoch, plots his return to the familiar Star Wars Galaxy from “Far, Far Away” in Ahsoka

It’s hard to believe, but the eighth episode of Ahsoka is the end — at least for now. So what’s next after Ahsoka for that Galaxy Far, Far Away on our television screens? Here’s what we know so far …

Skeleton Crew

The eight-episode series Skeleton Crew is expected later this year (2023). It stars Jude Law and is set during the same period as Ahsoka and The Mandalorian — the turbulent era after the Empire’s supposed fall in Episode VI — Return of the Jedi.

Skeleton Crew has been described as very Amblin-like, intrinsically Star Wars but with adolescent adventure vibes akin to E.T. and The Goonies. Learn more here

The Acolyte

Set in the waning days of the High Republic era, near the dawn of the Old Republic we see in the Episode I-III prequels, The Acoylte will star Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, Margarita Levieva and Joonas Suotamo.

This eight-episode 2024 series will feature Suotamo (Chewbacca in Episodes VII-IX and Solo) as a Wookiee Jedi Master.

Look for a darker tone exploring the shadows of the Republic and hints of dark side conspiracy that may foreshadow a certain Phantom Menace Learn more here

Genevieve O’Reilly, center, reprises her Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith role of Mon Mothma in Ahsoka; the Irish actress has also appeared as the Senator and Rebel Alliance leader in Rogue One: A Star Wars story and the Disney+ series Andor in addition to voicing her in the animated series Star Wars: Rebels. The role was originated in 1983’s Return of the Jedi by Caroline Blakiston.

Andor

A second 12-episode season of this acclaimed pre-Episode IV political thriller starring Diego Luna as the titular Cassian and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma (reprising their Rogue One — A Star Wars Story roles) is expected in August 2024, but production definitely was affected by the Writers Guild and Screen Actors Guild strikes. Stay tuned …

The Bad Batch

A third and final season of this animated follow-up to Clone Wars, set in the earliest days of the Empire as the Grand Army of the Republic is disbanded, is expected in 2024. Learn more here

Lando system?

Donald Glover is expected to return as the younger Calrissian scoundrel, a role he first assumed in Solo: A Star Wars Story — but will it be in a movie or a Disney+ TV series? TBA …

The Mandalorian?

A fourth season of the fan-favorite “Baby Yoda” series is widely expected — but has yet to be announced. It may also be wrapped into an expected “Mando-verse/Filoni-Favreau-verse” movie that is likely to wrap up the pre-Sequel Trilogy era of adventures set against the shadowy (so far) struggle between the nascent New Republic and the Remnants of the Empire.

We don’t even know — yet — whether Ahsoka itself will get another season. (Ed.: Now, we do — and it will!) But now, after Ahsoka’s season finale, and with the WGA strike ended and SAG-AFTRA negotiations proceeding at last, we should start hearing more from the Star Wars powers that be at Lucasfilm on what we’ll see for sure next — and when.

Another open question: How will Ahsoka, or another Disney+ Lucasfilm series that picks up on its many loose threads, handle the untimely demise of actor Ray Stevenson, who played the series’ breakout character, former Jedi turned mercenary Baylan Skoll?

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away …
